What is cascade tanks?

Cascade tanks are a type of fish tank filtration system that allows water to flow from a higher level chamber to a lower level chamber, creating a waterfall effect. This type of filtration system is designed to provide excellent water flow, filtration, and aeration, which are essential for maintaining a healthy aquatic environment.

The water is typically pumped up to the top chamber of the cascade tank, where it spills over into a series of filter media, such as foam, activated carbon, or bio-balls. These filter media help remove impurities, debris, and harmful chemicals from the water while also providing a surface for beneficial bacteria to grow. The water then flows down to the lower chamber, where it is recirculated back into the aquarium.

Cascade tanks are popular among fish and aquarium enthusiasts because they offer several advantages, such as improved water circulation, increased oxygenation, reduced noise, and improved water quality. They are also relatively easy to set up, maintain, and clean.
